THE POLLYSEEDS - UP & AWAYWhen jazz encompasses soul and hip-hop in such a way that you can touch with your own fucking hands high level of emotions, vibrations and above all make you able to perceive the world around you in a new dimension….then you’re in front of Mr. Terrace Martin.

Straight from the Crenshaw district of South Central Los Angeles , Terrace Martin has proven to be a gifted multi-instrumentalist , a majestic composer and producer, someone people look up to or admire, someone people just wish they could be.

Martin is currently involved in a new musical project with his band The Pollyseeds almost ready to show his last effort entitled Sounds Of Crenshaw Vol.1 .

The Pollyseeds is a superb group that includes bassist Brandon  Eugene Owen  (a first call for the elite of the jazz world , infact he worked with  Terrance Blanchard, Nicholas Payton, Robert Glasper among others) drummer Trevor Laurence (he had the pleasure to work with Snoop Dogg,Mariah Carey,Lionel Richie,Dr.Dre and The Temptations) which recently drops his new song with Nicholas Payton called Auckland .

Baltimore native songbird , Rose Gold is part of the group and in the recent past we already had a foretaste of her sublime vocal skills through pieces like Running featuring James Fauntleroy.

During the record session for Sounds Of Crenshaw Vol. 1 , Terrace Martin recruited some big names to help him to give shape to the opus : Robert Glasper, bassist Derrick Hodge, saxophonist Kamasi Washington, los angeleno rapper Problem aka Chachi.

Well , two weeks ago The Pollyseeds warmed up the audience with the first single along side Chachi called Intentions , that brought us the typical west coast flava a la Nate Dog (rest in peace man!) and today Philly label Ropeadope delights us with the second single titled Up & Away.

The song is simply magic , each element contributes towards a high level of quality!

Terrace Martin is the mosaic artist which set the tiles in place in order to create a perfect piece of art thanks the collaboration of veteran guitarist  Marlon Williams (you can find his name behind classic albums from the past such as Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J , Until The End Of Time by 2Pac,Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$ by uncle Snoop and more recent projects for YG,Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q) , Philadelphia  arranger, composer, saxophonist Adam Turchin (check out his Manifest Destiny) and of course the supa-warm voice of Rose Gold.
