THE MIXTAPERS FEAT. ILLA J AND FRANK NITT - WE SO GOOD It’s always a pleasure to contemplate musical creation born by outstanding international collaborations and today we wanna stimulate your curiosity with a collaboration that connects Germany,Italy and United States. Until now, the unique italian artist able to walk through doors has been the excellent jazz producer/musician Nicola Conte who appeared on several jazz selections: Jazzyland and Songs In A Mellow Mood (Jazz For Sophisticated Audience) but  Bologna based collective The Mixtapers astounded us with their incredible music! The Mixtapers is the brainchild of musicians/producers Brothermartino and Michele Manzo, two interesting and gifted artists equipped with a rare musical intelligence.Over time, the musical project recruited pianist Nico Menci, drummer Marco Frattini and percussionist Danilo Mineo becoming a collective. After collaborating with parisian label Laruche Records (they offered us interesting music like No Pressure by The Xtraordinair$) and british Expansions Collective (do you remember the masterpiece Bahia Affair by Redefinition aka Mecca:83,DistantStarr and Buscrates?) , The Mixtapers released in March a compelling opus entitled We So Good via Jazzanova’s Berlin label Sonar Kollektiv. We So Good is a collision of different range of sonorities,an experimental fusion of jazz,funk,hip-hop that boasts apparances from the homie DistantStarr,Alo and Detroit emcees Illa J and Frank Nitt. We invite y’all to explore the excellent and original album, giving you good vibrations with the cut called We So Good. Bass funk, wise use of unconventional instrumentations like the vintage drum machine Oberheim DX and moroccan percussion instrument known as krakebs is the original  recipe of the incredible collabo alongside Illa J and Frank Nitt. Illa J is living a fruitful and prolific period earning positive reviews for his last album Illa J and establishing good collaborations around the world (Ol’Burger Beats,Potatohead People,Tom Misch,Slum Village,Robert Glasper,Moka Only among others). Frank Nitt recently launched his new label Primo Atto Entertainment alongside producer Robroy and he’s currently working on a project called Asphalt Runways (with a line-up of guests emcees that includes Bishop Lamont, Illa J, OhNo, Guilty Simpson, Botni Applebum,Rah Digga)
