SCRATCHTHEBLOCK PRESENTS:NATURAL BORN KILLAH

Natural Born Killah is the new r&b selection that includes ten magnificent tracks performed by well-known artists and several indipendent buzz-worthy singers. We dug in the crates to resume some masterpieces from the past but we don’t forget to look at to the future highlighting interesting performers with an impressive talent.

SASHA KEABLE – ASKING FOR MORE (PRODUCED BY ROBBIE LAMOND)

We start with a magic r&b track by South London singer/songwriter/producer Sasha Keable who enchanted us with the smooth joint titled Asking For More. The Polydor affiliate is currently working on her debut studio album but she touched our soul with the chill and downtempo EP titled Black Book  from which we selected the relaxing Asking For More produced by London based producer Robbie Lamond .On the following EP titled Lemongrass and Limeleaves she explored 80s sonorities proving eclectic musical skills

NOSIDAM – PRIVATE ROOM (PRODUCED BY PENTHOUSE PENTHOUSE)

In October we showcased something really really hot by South Chicago singer Nosidam titled Turn The Lights Off (peep out the official video ) produced by mastermind Hazel. The track is included on Nosidam lil masterpiece titled  If Only You’ll Consider a perfect,well executed and balanced combination of soulful,relaxing  and jazzy vibrations. The project includes important collaborations like producers Bhonstro,Dela,Hazel. Taste the appealing sound and Nosidam’s fascinating vocal prowess on da r&b joint titled Private Room produced by Penthouse Penthouse a duo composed by Preston James and Mike Parvizi 

NE-YO FEAT. T.I. – ONE MORE

For the sixth studio album titled Non-Fiction , r&b crooner Ne-Yo recruited a line-up of artists that includes Juicy J,Jeezy,Schoolboy Q,Pitbull among others. We selected the downtempo ballad titled One More alongside Grand Hustle’s boss T.I.

JODECI FEAT. THA DOGG POUND – COME UP TO MY ROOM (PRODUCED BY DAT NIGGA DAZ AND DEVANTE SWING)

In 1994 Dr.Dre directed a short film titled Murder Was The Case and today we dig in the crates to blow the dust off the self-titled official soundtrack. Cashing in on the extreme notoriety of g-rap Death Row label enlisted a bunch of rappers Snoop Dogg,Nate Dog (R.I.P!!),Ice Cube,Dr.Dre,DJ Quik to record a must have compilation from which we chose the massive joint Come Up To My Room. The track is dope collaboration between Tha Dogg Pound and r&b group Jodeci (they recently dropped their brand new single Every Moment) produced by Dat Nigga Daz aka Daz Dillinger and co-produced by DeVante Swing.

JAVONTE’ – OUTTA TOWN (PRODUCED BY TAE BEAST)

Nebraska-born artist JaVontè is not only a skilful songwriter as member of the PenHedz, but is also a superb performer as you can realize listening to his compelling album titled Where Have You Been dropped in December. Take your time to contemplate the buttery and dreamy r&b joint titled Outta Town produced by TDA’s affiliate Tae Beast (Logic,Kendrick Lamar,Ab-Soul…)

JAMES JAPAN – THE FOREST

On our last r&b selection XO we introduced to our family the talent of r&b singer/songwriter/producer James Japan. Well , the comparison with Frank Ocean is not a risk but we think it’s proper and if you get familiar with James’s album Weird Dreams and Comic Books  you will agree with us!! James Japan is able to enrapture the audience with his touching vocal prowess,his diction and intonation that never falter and his more than impressive productions. Make sure you to check out the downtempo track titled The Forest.

GENE NOBLE – WORK OF ART (PRODUCED BY  THE CALIGRAPHIST)

Are you ready to dive into the intimate music performed by r&b crooner and songwriter Gene Noble? Gene Noble flexes his musical chops with a voice able to reach a four-octave range andhe will tug your heartstrings with the seductive gem titled Work Of Art imbued with mellow sounds produced by The CaligraphistLast year Mr.Noble released the debut album Rebirth Of Gene , so don’t miss it!

DARON JONES FEAT. YONNI SOUL – YOU COULD BE MINE

Two sons of Washington , two ways to perform black music.We are talking about producer DaRon Jones and singer/songwriter Yonni Soul. Two years ago they recorded an interesting joint titled You Could Be Mine that sounds so tender,romantic and sweet like honey! DaRon Jones appeared on jazz selection Rhapsody In Blue

CARL THOMAS – ANYTHING 

In 2004 r&b sensation Carl Thomas released his sophomore studio album titled Let’s Talk About It counting on the support of heavyweight artists like Ryan Leslie,LL Cool J,Mario Winans,Steve J,Just Blaze,Dre & Vidal and Eric Roberson. In order to celebrate the legacy of one of our fav r&b album we selected the mid-tempo track titled Anything. ATELLER FEAT. TAN BROWN – RUNNING OUTER SPACE

Seductive,eargasmic,lavish…these are few adjectives to describe the uplifting experience of Running Outer Space the prog-r&b tune produced by Brooklyn sound architect Ateller and the sultry songstress Tan Brown. This gem is the lead single of the forthcoming Ateller’s album 1001 Nights. Recently we showcased their collaboration for the compelling joint called Freedom
