The first track is a real bomb performed by Lawless Element, an underground hip-hop duo from Detroit composed by Griot (emcee) and Magnif (producer /emcee) , deeply rooted affiliates of Slum Village’s core member J.Dilla, that collaborated on their project titled Soundvision In Stereo released in 2005 under Babygrande Records . Real good music on da record, we appreciated beats n rhymes. Madlib and Jay Dee contributed to this production masterpiece but we have to admit that Magnif made a supa-dupa work with his impressive beats. We selected the wonderful tune titled Rules Pt.2 , a must have extra-soulful gem that will not disappoint you.

Queens born and raised hip-hop producer Hannibal King appeared on Dope Shit and he represents surely a good choice if you are looking for some dope beats inspired by icons like J.Dilla, Madlib, Kanye West, Premo, Large Professor. In 2011 Hannibal King released a goldie album titled Flower From Pamela from which we chose the alternative version of Villains featuring Bub Styles.

On da hip-hop selection Road To Hip-Hop we selected something about one of our fave underground hip-hop group from California, The Globetroddas. The members of the group are often involved into several project as solo artist like Boho Fau with his sumptuous jazz-hop project Coffee House Swinger or Derrick Buck with his EP The Way I See It .They released interesting work under different moniker like Familiars Unseen but we ain’t no doubt  they touched our soul with the masterpiece Love, an EP that you can define as hip-hop classic, where soulful underground/old school  beats meet the most impressive way to make rap! Today we serve you up the solid Down wit’ us.

Johnathan “Dred” Scott is a super talented producer and emcee that gained positive reviews with his album Breakin Combs dropped in 1994, showing a powerful style where jazz,hip-hop and funk were blended in a thoughtful way. It is for any hip hop tasters of that tipical New York sound of early 90’s , with the horns and drums, and  jazzy supa-catchy vibrations. We selected a special rarity from da compilation Pump Ya Fist – Hip Hop Inspired By The Black Panthers  , titled I Gotta Get Mine . Mr.Scott appeared on Back In The Dayz , Talking All That Jazz , Them Dirty Jazz-Hop , Re-Works and Remixes and MamaLuvSoul Green Version

In 2009 super-producer/DJ DJ Jazzy Jeff dropped  his wonderful compilation of favourites hip-hop joints titled My Faves Volume 1 , remixing Nas,Jay-Z,Notorius BIG,Black Moon,Pharcyde,Wu Tang with his remarkable style. What’s your impression of the remix of The Symphony by Juice Crew renamed Da Orchestra by Jeff , resuming a Donald Byrd classic record?

For da scratchers out there we selected From The Heart with a special guest star: BLU.

Plug 2,Posdnuos and Maseo aka De La Soul dropped in 1995 their hip-hop classic Stakes Is High. As crate diggers, we blow the dust of their soulful hip-hop gem titled 4 More featuring Renée Neufville and Jean Baylor better known as Zhané. The tune was produced by DJ Ogee, the mastermind behind tunes for Sadat X, Brand Nubian,Big Pun,Organized Konfusion.
