Is it possible to revamp a classic hip-hop old-school joint performed by Native Tongue affiliate De La Soul? Well, pay attention! Swedish beatmaker Mushtak Awad aka Moose Dawa shows us his remarkable musical chops and his style deeply rooted in hip-hop old-school era and jazz. As he says
i want to create some kind of nostalgic feeling with my music, trying to bring a laid-back touch to the sample-based instrumentals with influences mainly from soul and jazz, even though i’m an all-eater when it comes to music
Moose Dawa dug in the crate to resume the fifth full-length studio album by De La titled Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump and reinvented a new fan-tas-tic rhythm for the track All Good featuring the fiery voice of Chaka Khan. The result is a soulful head-nodding rhythm that excites your mind! The last effort by legendary De La Soul titled And the Anonymous Nobody is set to release on August 26 so pre-order it now!
Düsseldorf producer Suff Daddy is one of our fave artists! His sharpened crafts prove an undisputable creative mind, a bright talent,an intelligent and mature producer. Until now we selected Suff Daddy to highlight his brilliant intuitions as gifted magician of remix, but also spotlighing wonderful gems like Deep Shit performed by dutch singer Mar and included on The Gin Diaries . Suff Daddy is also member of the hip-hop trio Betty Ford Boys alongside Dexter and Brenk Sinatra. Today we select a sumptuous treatment remix of Wonder Woman performed by Lion Babe , a duo composed by singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman. Suff Daddy revamps the song with his consistent urban touch and brilliance. Recently Lion Babe dropped the EP Sun Joint and Suff Daddy released the project titled Birdsongs
Brooklyn multi-talented arranger/composer/trained pianist/producer Ahmed Sirour hit our soul with his infinite class.
Today we give y’all the opportunity to taste the boundless potential of Mr.Sirour as remixer with the impressive re-work of Kendrick Lamar How Much A Dollar Cost.

It’s always a pleasure to see the entire world as a unique huge garden of great sounds, in which people can find what they’re looking for in terms of quality black music: jazz,neo-soul,r&b,hip-hop,jazz-hop,experimental and future sonorities.During our journey we “went hunting” of the finest music all around the world, from US to Canada, from France to Germany, from Japan to Spain.Today we dig in the Denmark beatscene to find something that deserves the attention of music sites, blogs, magazines and music tasters.Copenhagen based producer/beatmaker Jabar Ligla grabs our attention with a style strongly influenced by jazz and hip-hop old school music, with an attitude to make beats in the same manner as legendary hip-hop producers such as Pete Rock,Madlib,J.Dilla.Does he deserve your attention?Yessir.. Why?To give y’all a proof we selected an amazing, superb and extra-refined treatment remix of Pushin’ On. In 2005 U.K. renowned musician, producer & DJ Quantic dropped via Tru Thoughts the project Pushin On recorded with his live band The Quantic Soul Orchestra. Jabar Ligla re-arranges the track titled Pushin’ On and the result is an overflowing supa-soulful and elegant waterfall of sounds that highlights the sultry and fiery voice of U.K songstress Alice Russell.
Back in the 95’s when hip-hop mogul KRS-One dropped his sophomore self-titled album. The lineup is a who’s-who of influential figures such as producers like DJ Premier,Showbiz and Diamond D as well as spitters like Busta Rhymes,Das EFX and Fat Joe among others.

Soulive represents one of those musical project that runs away from conventional boundaries! Formed in 1999 the group is the brainchild of brothers Adam and Neal Evans and guitarist Erik Krasno and if you’re into experimental music..well..we highly recommend to listen closely their incredible “must have” masterpiece titled Next released in 2012 via legendary Blue Note Records. The project reveals their remarkable chameleon style merging together jazz, funk and even hip-hop recruiting some exponents of the urban scene like Black Thought of The Roots and Talib Kweli. The project includes a badass version of Bridge To Brama (the original song appeared on Soulive Doin’ Something) featuring veteran rapper Talib Kweli and remixed by hip-hop stellar producer Hi-Tek.
Last year In June Los Angeles based rapper Spliff Hemingway and producer Duke Westlake brought back the 90’s hip-hop flow with their collaborative project titled Waters. The balanced combo between the dusty beats and the laid back rhymes created a good hip-hop project that you can download for free via Bandcamp .Prick up your ears and prepare yourself to listen to the remix version of the tune titled Flighted featuring Agallah The Don , finely handled by Jazz Spastiks. We really adore the beats cooked by the talented Scottish underground hip-hop producers , in particular we love their ability to blend hip-hop with jazz music and in this case they made an incredible work adding their signature boom-bap jazzy soulful sound! In May Jazz Spastiks unleashed the collaborative project alongside Junclassic titled Mode 7
Born and raised in Minneapolis , Javier Santiago impressed us with solid musical chops. Teacher, arranger, producer, composer, musician the young artist combines a jazz musical background with other sonorities in order to experiment an original style.

The impressive remix is included on the 4th installment of Javi’s Beats
