THE RURALS – SAVE IT

Bristol mastermind Andy Compton represents a synonym of class! His huge repertoire  spans with breezy virtuosity deep-house,chill-out,nu-jazz captivating a wide and miscellaneous audience with different backgrounds. Projects such as Rural Soul,Compton’s Soul or Shades Of Green are a clear example of his skills. Today we selected the track titled Save It produced under the moniker of The Rurals ,enhanced with the warm and elegant voice of Marie Tweek (she appeared on Groove Easy as solo artist with a superlative track titled We Can Help from her debut album Like This). Save It is included on Farming Grooves released in 2008. Make sure you to check out The Rurals last opus titled Retrospect

RAHEEM DEVAUGHN – ANY TIME ANY PLACE (REMAKE) (PRODUCED BY MUHSINAH)

This year the Love King,Raheem DeVaughn dropped is fifth studio album titled Love Sex and Passion . The hands-down r&b/neo-soul crooner served the audience up with an excellent seductive oeuvre, counting on the support of superlative producers such as veteran luminary Chucky Thompson (Notorius BIG,TLC,Mary J Blige,Faith Evans and the list goes on!!),J.Mo Mozee and BJ The Chicago Kid. This year the New Jersey native singer gave us a special treatment of a 1994 r&b classic performed by Janet Jackson titled Any Time Any Place.Damn, the remake sounds so fucking hot, thanks also the instrumental finely crafted by Washington, D.C. native music-maker and standout alternative r&b singer Muhsinah.

RA-RE VALVERDE – COMPLICATED (CO-PRODUCED BY LASZLO FEHRER)

Open your mind and give the proper respect to Ra-Re Valverde. The New York based artist got a versatile talent as producer,singer and songwriter and she worked alongside stellar performers such as Rahsaan Patterson, Trina Broussard,Jill Scott. Ra-Re debut album titled A Beautiful Mess dropped in 2007 , sums up the lack of pre-conceived ideas during the recording process, creating a unique alternative sound tinged with ambient,electronica and modern soul. She unveils great quality as producer , working on 6 instrumentals. We invite you to experience the sound of this alternative songstress, listening to Complicated co-produced by german producer Laszlo Fehrer.

PETE PHILLY – OCEAN (PRODUCED BY FS GREEN)

Half dominican ,half dutch, Pete Philly deligthted us with his album titled One. One represents his first solo album (after the previous works alongside talented producer Perquisite ) and reflects Pete’s hip-hop roots deeply infused with soul and mellow tones. The centerpiece of the album is Ocean a goldie production handled by dutch DJ/producer as well as selector for 22 Tracks , FS Green (he appeared on neo-soul selections Sweet Bitter Love and Neo-Soul Fragments). JORDAN RAKEI AND KIRAN KAI – MAYA

From Brisbane to U.K! One of the most interesting artist of the music scene, Jordan Rakei meets South London producer Kiran Kai to collaborate on a track titled Maya. The result is something epic! The fruitful collabo offers us a sumptuous piece that exudes panache and class.A trained ear will recognize the sample of The Light by Common at the intro of the tune, the soft notes pour out just like the stream of a calm river,thrilling the soul of the listener with the groovy and the steamy,laid back vocals of Mr.Rakei.Make sure you to grab Jordan Rakei debut EP Franlkin’s Room and his sophomore masterpiece Groove Curse

EUROZ – LONG LIVE DILLA (PRODUCED BY J.DILLA)

After 4 years in jail, Vegas rapper Euroz, starts to reinvent his life as rapper. The EP titled A.O.A Age Of Aquarius gave us a proof of his chops, so prick up your ears and listen to his raw bars over one of the most impressive instrumental cooked by J.Dilla.You can check out the original instrumental used by Dilla to remix Purple by trip-hop group Crustation on da 12″ released in 1997 by Zomba Records.

DWELE – VAIN

Two years later the demise of J.Dilla, neo-soul super-talented artist Dwele released his third studio album titled Sketches Of A Man to pay homage to the beloved Detroit fella. Lush harmonies, creative instrumentation and remarkable vocal prowess are the main ingredients of the 5 stars opus with collaboration of artists such as Slum Village and hip-hop producer Nottz. The jazzy and extra-buttery jam titled Vain is a kind of track that engages the senses.

BLUEY – SAINTS  AND SINNERS

Incognito founder Jean-Paul Maunick aka Bluey dropped this year his sophomore solo album titled Life Between The Notes . The follow-up to Leap Of Faith , it’s a sophisticated journey through jazz,r&b and soul elements as you can realize listening to the refined track titled Saints & Sinners where fender rhodes traces a thin line between neo-soul groove and jazz.

BEATSPOKE – MANY SUCH SUNS

In 2010 experimental duo Beatspoke introduce their music to the international audience with the project titled No Rush. Their sound is a wise combination and experimentation of different sonorities: downtempo,broken-beat,soul,hip-hop everything laced-up with futuristic perspective. The duo consisting of singer/ spoken word artist Sarah Gessler and producer Josh Fontan is currently working on the forthcoming LP titled The Journey Is The Destination. In the meantime check out the avant-garde sound of Many Such Suns.

BOKO MARU FEAT. KENSHO – DOWNTIME (PRODUCED BY MELODISINFONIE)

Canadian producer/singer Boko Maru teams up with Toronto based alternative-r&b singer Kenshō to record the supa-dupa-mellow tune titled Downtime. The soulful downtempo instrumental is handled by swiss skilful producer/beatmaker Melodisinfonie (he appeared on Stay Mellow Vol.5 with a great jam alongside beatmaker Jazzo and singer Soia and we also spotlighted the collaborative track with Marlene Winkler titled Spread The Love). Downtime is a must have jam with a slinky flow adorned with Boko’s voice (she def reminds Aaliyah!!) and the really impressive talent of Kenshō.
