Howdy beautiful scratchers, welcome to the new appointment with smooth and mellow neo-soul and r&b music.

The sixth installment of Stay Mellow series includes 10 extra seductive gem for da lovers out there, so don’t sleep, pick up your fav headphones and press play!!

We start with grammy nominated performer, producer and resident DJ for Kiss & Grind nightlife event Vikter Duplaix.  After his mix compilation DJ Kicks, Vikter Duplaix released a full length album titled International Affairs and the intriguing Bold & Beautiful, from which we selected  the eclectic and fascinating Temple of Thoughts where he combines neo-soul elements with deep-house groove. It’s not the first time that Vikter Duplaix appairs on scratchtheblock.com. Make you sure to check out also Giant Steps , Eargasmic Jazz and Jazz Is The Keyword

The next artist is a new entry and his name is  Trumaine Lamar. Florida resident released two projects : in 2011 Things I Should’ve Told Her and the most recent Analog Digital dropped last year. Trumaine Lamar pop up on our radar thanks the single Still an impressive revisitation in a r&b key of a smooth and soulful Slum Village joint titled Fall In Love. It’s an ambitious production by composer and producer Brandon Crumbly

Back in 1991 when r&b phenomenons  Attrell S. and Jarrett Cordes, seduced so many girls with a kind of music rich in quality and thrilling warm vibrations under the moniker of PM Dawn. Their debut r&b album titled Of The Heart, Of The Soul And Of The Cross: The Utopian Experience was certificated gold on three States thanks some r&b milestones like Set Adrift On Memory Bliss and Paper Doll

On Neo-Soul Fever and Lost In Lust we recommended you two gems by neo-soul crooner Lathun Grady. The velvet-soulful melody of Sweetest Thing enchants, seduces and makes ya feel good!! If you are looking for great neo-soul album, don’t esitate to buy his mellow masterpiece titled Fortunate

Class, class and more infinite class!!! This is what we think about the music performed by r&b/neo-soul veteran crooner Kem. Four years ago Kem released his third studio album named Intimacy and for this occasion we wanna caress your soul with his fantastic and brilliant If It’s Love with the collaboration of r&b singer Chrisette Michele , although the album version was featured with Detroit neo-soul songstress Maurissa Rose.

Bronx r&b singer Jovan Dais represents surely an underrated artist but for us he remains an unadulterated rhythm n blues performer capable to record some impressive track like the romantic ballad Life Without You .

We go on with a rarity for your collection!! In 1997 r&b singer Jonathan David Buck better known as Jon B dropped his sophomore acclaimed album titled Cool Relax recruiting dope artists for some collabo like producers Tim & Bob, The Ummah and  2 Pac to record the single Are U Still Down? . We chose the remix version of the single called Don’t Say , with the sample of a soul classic record by Diana Ross , Love Hangover.

We posted something about Pittsburgh veteran virtuoso guitarist and performer George Benson on our last r&b, neo-soul selection Stay Mellow Vol. 5 . Although George Benson is a great and respected exponent on jazz compass, he was able to record also some modern r&b gems like this extra-smooth single titled Six Play from his brilliant album Irreplaceable . Seduction is here!!!

Take an indonesian neo-soul songstress with a silky voice and an avant-garde U.K soul singer like Omar and the result is something for your mind: Let’s Go Back. It’s a neo-soul impressive track performed by Dira J.Sugandi and included on her album Something About The Girl released in 2010 and produced by members of acid jazz band Incognito, Matt Cooper and Jean-Paul Maunick.

For a great final , we decided to resume one of the most interesting album by neo-soul veteran crooner Brian McKnight: Ten. Compared to his previous albums , Ten includes more modern r&b sounds thanks some excellent collaborations with masterminds B.Cox and Tim & Bob. We chose the sparkling and touching piano gem titled More and More produced by himself.
