BEN WILLIAMS FEAT. JOHN ROBINSON AND CHRISTIAN SCOTT – THE LEE MORGAN STORY

Washington native jazz bassist,band leader and composer Ben Williams kicks this selection off with an excellent piece titled The Lee Morgan Story.The joint is included on Ben Williams debut album titled State Of Art and it reflects the eclectic nature that imbued the entire opus: a balanced and top-tier amalgamation of jazz,hip-hop and r&b.The Lee Morgan Story is an outstanding collaboration with the great jazz trumpeter Christian Scott and South Bronx underground gifted rapper John Robinson. Make sure you to check out the fresh out the box sophomore album by Ben Williams titled Coming Of Age featuring renowned artists such as neo-soul singer Goapele,Christian Scott,Wes Felton.

TERRI LYNE CARRINGTON FEAT. KIRK WHALUM – FAVORITE LULLABY

In 2009 trained jazz drummer Terry Lyne Carrington released the jazz groove album titled More To Say….Real Life Story, counting on the support of luminaries such as George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Christian McBride among others. Like Terri says her music is “a hodgepodge of traditional jazz and groove music” and we bet you will appreciate the supa-cool and extra-smooth tune titled Favorite Lullaby featuring saxophonist Kirk Whalum (he appeared on our jazz selection Giant Steps). The wonderful voice of Terri Lyne Carrington caresses your our and reminds us another legend like Meshell Ndegeocello.

MR.SCRUFF FEAT. ALICE RUSSELL – MUSIC TAKES ME UP

U.K visionary DJ/producer Andrew Carthy aka Mr.Scruff is a valid choice if you are looking for something that brakes the boundary of traditional genres. Mr.Scruff eclectic approach to music flirts with a plethora of sounds from jazz to funk , from soul to disco and in 1998 he signed to London indipendent label Ninja Tune alongside artists  such as Andreya Triana,Bonobo,The Cinematic Orchestra,Roots Manuva.In 2008 Mr.Scruff recruited some dope artists like Quantic, Andreya Triana,Roots Manuva to record the album Ninja Tuna. We selected for you the sparkling Music Takes Me Up with the vocals of U.K wonderful songstress Alice Russell who appeared on three jazz selection Novo Piano , Da Jazz Hunters and Jazzyland as well as on neo-soul selection Low On Cash Rich In Love .Peep out the crazy music video of Music Takes Me Up

KAN WAKAN – SPACE OWL (MARK DE CLIVE LOWE REMIX)

Los Angeles based experimental/avant-garde group Kan Wakan  released last year their debut project titled Moving On.The group consists of arranger/composer Gueorgui Linev and guitarist/producer Peter Potyondy. Each component of the band contributes to develop and build a sophisticated sound that mixes elements of psychedelia,soul,post rock,noir jazz and orchestral pop.They earned notoriety when their track Like I Need You was featured as the backing track for HBO’s ad , the fact helped them to expose their music to a huge audience!We’d like to recommend the superlative treatment remix of the tune titled Space Owl with the impressive vocals of Kristianne Bautista, handled by Mark de Clive-Lowe.The talented musician,composer and producer revamps the centerpiece of Moving On adding his remarkable touch of class and the result is a compelling jazz trip imbued with blissful and soulful chords.As great great fans of Mark de Clive-Lowe we selected many tracks included on several selections such as: Class In Session Vol.4,Da Groove,Stay Mellow Vol.3,The Block Is Hot,Masters At Work,Class In Session. JEFF GIBBS QUARTET FEAT. LILI K – LATCH

Two years ago British DJ and producer duo Disclosure dropped the project Settle that includes the single Latch featuring Sam Smith. Milwaukee born jazz songstress Lili K teamed up with Chicago jazz saxophonist Jeff Gibbs and his band composed by keyboardist Cleo Byrd,drummer DJ Abernathy and bassist James Carter to re-arrange the Disclosure’s single. The result of this fruitful collaboration is an appealing and seductive reinterpretation in jazz key. Recently Lili K released her new album titled Ruby , so make sure you to taste it.

HANLON BROTHERS FEAT. ROMAN MC – MAGIC SHOW

Are you ready to experience the music by Hanlon Brothers? They are two brothers Saia drummer and bassist Omar Hanlon from Australia. They caught our attention with the debut album titled Featured released in March.The work is an ear-catchy exploration of different sounds:jazz,funk,soul and hip-hop. We chose the finest and soulful Magic Show featuring Roman MC.

TOI HORN – FEELIN FREE

Washington DC multi-talented artist Toi Horn is ready to show to our audience her beautiful music. Singer,songwriter,producer and musician….she blows our mind with her powerful vocal abilities (she sounds like Jill Scott!!) and if you are looking for a proof , allow us to serve you up the jazzy and groovy track titled Feelin Free alongside the M.V.P. Band an ensemble of hip-hop and go-go musicians.

EMMA DONOVAN & THE PUTBACKS – DAWN

A large dose of Stax’s soul and hint of jazz on da superlative track titled Dawn performed by Emma Donovan a fiery singer from New South Wales who joines her prowess with Australia funk outfit The Putbacks consisting of drummer Rory McDougall, guitarist Tom Martin, bassist Mick Meagher ,organist Simon Mavin  and percussionist Justin Marshall . DESTRUMENTS FEAT. TEXACALI HORNS – TAKE A CLOSER LOOK

Don’t try to put Destruments in a box because their eclectic perspective of music represents literally their skin. Multi-instrumentalists Sean Willson, Kelly Finnigan and Adam Willis grabbed us by the collar and wouldn’t let us go thanks their clever productions that sound so consistent, experimental and refined gently brushing jazz-funk breaks,hip-hop,soul sonorities to stimulate the palate of demanding listeners.Today we selected a brilliant and must have piece from their album  Shaped By The Sound titled Take A Closer Look featuring Darrell Leonard and Joe Sublett aka Texacali Horns.

DARRYL REEVES FEAT. GWEN BUNN – EVERY TIME I SEE YOU

In 2013 we selected one of the most beautiful jazz song of the last decade for the selection Jazz Is The Keyword. The track was Dark Matter by jazz saxophonist Darryl Reeves featuring Carmen Rodgers and included on the masterpiece Mercury. Mercury represents a milestone of the modern time and just like Black Radio by Robert Glasper Experiment, Hard Groove by RH Factor,Music Evolution by Buckshot LeFonque it puts the listener in front of a new way to listen jazz music.
