Jazz On Da Block is a special gathering of smooth jazz tracks that will embrace your soul, bring it  to heaven!

On our last jazz selection, So What! we recommended  a wonderful gem produced by U.K producer/singer Tom Mish helped by Laura Emma Mish ‘s saxophone : Follow. Tonight you have to pay attention to anotha special track called Eems To Slide. It would be a wonderful thing, if Tom Mish gave to himself a chance to collaborate with some interesting artist in order to make a jazz-hop project, taking advantage of his infinite class and talent.

The next artist is a duo composed by musician Marcus Baylor and his wife Jean Baylor, known as The Baylor Project. Jean was a member of neo-soul group Zhané together with anotha neo-soul/jazz songstress Renee Neufville. More In Love is their first really impressive single and we guarantee an uplifting experience for your soul.

Time to blow the dust off one of the best modern jazz album of the last decade: Black Radio 2 by Robert Glasper Experiment. On this fantastic record Robert & co. recruited crème de la crème from the black music scene:Jill Scott, Common,Brandy,Dwele,Marsha Ambrosius,Eric Roberson, Lalah Hathaway,Faith Evans,Lupe Fiasco, Jazmine Sullivan,Luke James, Macy Gray,Bilal,Anthony Hamilton. Tonight we serve you up Jesus Children with the warm and elegant voice of Lalah Hathaway. The revisitation of Stevie Wonder’s Jesus Children Of America is a goosebump gem that you can feel like an hertbeat, like a breath,like a touch on your skin. Must have!

Recently we posted the single Nobody by neo-soul/jazz group Moonchild. In 2012 they released the incredible album titled Be Free and this year on 25th March they will drop the sophomore album called Please,Rewind, launched by the lead single All The Joy (included on our mellow selection So Soulful). Nobody is the second single from the upcoming album and we have to admit that this young and super-talented group make always a kind of music rich in quality and class.

It’s always a pleasure listen to something performed by musician/singer/producer Miles Bonny. Tonight we chose a spectacular jazzy track from the  album titled Lumberjack Soul .  The entire project is a creative expression of a mastermind artist that knows perfectly how to make quality music as you can see with the single titled Yes I Do.

In 2007, the one and only Jill “Jilly” Scott, released her Collaborations, an incredible gathering of sophisticated track performed by the neo-soul diva with several artists: Mos Def,The Isley Brothers ,Eric Roberson,Darius Rucker  and many others. The project was released under the Hidden Beach records and it includes also the revisitation of a 1941 single by the music icon Billie Holliday,God Bless The Child featuring Al Jarreau and George Benson

Indiana multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Diggs Duke, represents one of the most renowned artists from the black music scene and it’s no coincidence that one of the most respected and authoritative DJ, broadcaster, producer, compiler, label boss Gilles Peterson decided to released Diggs last album titled Offering For Anxious under his Brownswood Recordings. We chose Something In My Soul, a sumptuous masterpiece that you can’t miss.

New entry on da block: Deni Hines. The velvety and warm voice by this singer/songwriter from Australia conquered totally us, so we decided to spotlight her considerable accomplishment, recommending her lil masterpiece titled Someone To Watch over Me from The Other Woman released in 2007.

On the jazz-hop selection called Da Orchestra , we posted a masterpiece by rapper Guru: Living Legend, with the great collabo of David Sanborn‘s saxophone. Would you like to relax your mind with a cool-smooth jazz track by David featuring two incredibile neo-soul/r&b veterans like Cassandra Wilson and Eric Benet? Allow us to serve you up Daydreaming from the album Inside

Last but not least the magic duo represented by producer Andy Compton and canadian vocalist Jaidene Veda. The single titled Imagined puts on this selection the magic touch of a sophisticated spoken word,jazz mellow tones and neo-soul groove , like a huge but intimate kaleidoscope of different genres blended in a masterful way.
