PUPPETS OF CHAOS – TRU DAT (PRODUCED BY DJ 3D AND RANDY NKONOKI)
In 1995 New York hip-hop outfit Puppets Of Chaos consisting of Skribe and Sckala unleashed a 12” with two joints: Tru Dat and New & Improved. We resumed the head-nodding Tru Dat, a jazzy production by Brooklyn beatsmith DJ 3D and Randy Nkonoki.

F.T aka Fuck That, DJ KO and DJ Buda known with the moniker of Street Smartz dropped in 1996 a fan-tas-tic hip-hop masterpiece titled Problemz. The joint was produced by legendary Bronx hip-hop producer Anthony Best aka Buckwild. Buckwild appeared on several selections here on scratchtheblock.com: Digging In The Crates, Digging In The Crates Vol.4,Walking With The Giants,Beyond The Rhythm,The Remix Session Vol.5.
BOOT CAMP CLICK – AND SO (PRODUCED BY CURT CAZAL)
Maybe for an old school lover,the name of Boot Camp Click will sound more than familiar! The hip-hop collective hit the ghetto streets with the debut album For The People dropped in 1997 and produced by eminent producers like Shawn J Period,Tony Touch and Buckshot. Five years later the group released the sophomore project The Chosen Few recruiting hit-makers like Bink,Da Beatminerz,Hi-Tek,The Alchemist. We spin da hot shit titled And So coocked by Curtis Andre Small aka Curt Cazal (Afu-Ra,Tony Touch etc..) . Boot Camp Click appeared on hip-hop selection The Remix Session Vol.3
THE CONSCIOUS DAUGHTERS FEAT. MAC DRE – FONKY EXPEDITION (PRODUCED BY PARIS)
Time to nod our heads with some good g-funk music. Paris’s protegè Carla Green aka femcee CMG and her beloved partner in crime Karryl “Special One” Smith earned great respect with their solid music played under the moniker The Conscious Daughters. The Oakland duo of femcees inflamed Oakland and Bay Area with the masterpiece Funky Expedition produced by Paris. Funky Expedition is included on Ear To the Street unleashed in 1993.
BLACKSTAR FEAT. COMMON – RESPIRATION (PRODUCED BY HI-TEK)
Stellar hip-hop duo Blackstar (Talib Kweli and Mos Def) rapped the most impressive rhymes releasing the epic self titled record alongside dope productions by Da Beatminerz,J.Rawls,Ge-Ology,88-Keys and Shawn J Period to name a few. The collaborative track with Common Sense titled Respiration is a pure jewel cleverly produced by Hi-Tek using the sample of Theme From The Fox by Don Randi.
ARTIFACTS FEAT. BUSTA RHYMES – C’MON WIT DA GIT DOWN (BUCKWILD REMIX)
El Da Sensei and Tame One aka Artifacts released in 1994 the wonderful Between A Rock and A Hard Place. Veteran rapper Redman produced the outstanding tune titled C’Mon Wit Da Git Down featuring Bus-A-Bus. The remix handled by Buckwild is so so dope!!! El Da Sensei is currently working on a new project alongside Sadat X, J.Rawls.

Have ya ever heard something played by All City? The hip-hop duo from Brooklyn composed by Greg Valentine and J Mega dropped in 1997 the album Metropolis Gold.We selected the impressive Move On You produced by legendary Rockwilder (Erick Serimon,Jamal,Redman,Jodeci,Big Pun,Jay-Z). For this tune Rockwilder took advantage of a Quincy Jones instrumental titled Live In Me.
A TRIBE CALLED QUEST – PUSH IT ALONG
Smooth jazzy vibes,incredible lyrics,flow and beats. This is some ingredients of the favourful debut album by Native Tongue members A Tribe Called Quest titled People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.The project represents a milestone and a benchmark for hip-hop and jazz-hop heads. We chose the dynamic Push It Along.
2 PAC FEAT. OUTLAWZ AND BIG SYKE – STILL I RISE (ALTERNATIVE VERSION)
Location: West Coast. Year:1999.Starring:2 Pac and Outlawz. The collaboration between the legend Tu Pac and the hip-hop crew Outlawz started in 1995 on da project Me Against The World , when Outlawz were known as Dramacydal. At the end of the 90s Pac and Outlawz dropped the certified platinum record Still I Rise counting on the support of Soulshock & Karlin,Daz Dillinger,Kurupt,Tony Pizarro on da beat!
