The first track that we selected is a fantastic revisitation in a jazz key of a psychedelic record by Norah Dean. To resume this great work, Brownswood Recordings recruited the jazz singer Zara McFarlane that teamed up with composer, trumpeter, songwriter Leron Thomas . You can taste the immeasurable and cool performance by Zara on her album If You Knew Her. Zara McFarlane appeared on our jazz selection So What

The next track is a compelling cover of a 1960 jazz record by Nat Adderley ( covered also by Nina Simone) titled Work Song. The perfomer is Stacey Carter a jazz vocalist native of Memphis that grasp our soul with her fiery and breathtaking performance. She worked with artists like George Benson,Bobby McFerrin and Wynton Marsalis.

Former member of legendary neo-soul duet Zhanè , Renee Neufville has been also involved on many projects with RH Factor and she has been a great protagonist with her appeareances on charming albums like Hear To See by Seravince (check out her performance on Jazz Is The Keyword). We chose something special from RH Factor masterpiece Hard Groove. The track is titled Juicy and surely it will bring your soul to heaven.

Recently we spotlighted a newcomer artist from Canada: Nick Price . His goldie piece titled Naked Soul literally crowded the web , gaining positive reviews by most renowned blogs, sites and magazines. No wonder for this success, because with Naked Soul , Nick, melted together neo-soul groove and jazzy sound finding the right recipe for a buzz-worthy single rich in quality !!!

Anotha cover, anotha brilliant musical point of view. This time the protagonist is the avant-garde multifaceted West Berlin native, Me’Shell Ndegéocello that in 2012 decided with her band to record a a marvelous tribute to a music icon, Nina Simone. Pour Une Âme Souveraine A Dedication is a thoughtful production that combine elements of blues with soul and folk.We chose the track titled Be My Husband (the original version is included on Nina Simone album Pastel Blues) featuring the sparkling voice of Memphis vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Valerie June

The belgian Billie Holiday! Probably a rush comparison (or not!!) but Melanie De Biasio surely got game to strike the jazz audience with her smoky, noir and sensuous vocal skills. Her last effort titled No Deal  received many positive reviews and we are one of them that see her like a talent that deserve attention. If her name is not familiar , don’t worry we are ready to serve you up an impressive single called The Flow. Let us know your impression about her!

In 1999 legendary acid jazz group Incognito released their album No Time Like The Future from which we chose the intriguing flow of the track titled More Of Myself. The track is enhanced by the warm and sizzling hot voice of Brooklyn songstress Karen Bernod , an artist that started her career as background singer for legends like  Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu and D’Angelo. Wow, imagine yourself during a boat-party sipping a Martini….yeassir this is the right soundtrack !!!!!

The recipe for a great jazz-mood-track. Take U.K musician and singer Nicola Kramer and Broken-Beat,Soul producer Dominic Stanton aka Domu, shake both ingredients and the result is Need 2 Learn. Extra-smooth future jazz sound from an interesting album dropped in 2007 titled The Other Side by Nicola Kramer.

If you are looking for unconventional music without renounce to quality, well maybe is the case to take a look to Walter T.Smith.It’s the debut album by avant-garde poet-singer Ambersunshower, that represents an emotive journey through the pain of love and life with an approach that break the convential boundaries about genres stepping to trip-hop and future jazz, recruiting great producer like PM Dawn and Minnesota that made beats for Sadat X,Naughty By Nature,Grand Puba,Big Pun. Now enjoy yourself with Serengeti Plains , in our opinion a real great masterpiece produced by Minnesota.
