The next artist is a new entry here on scratchtheblock.com! Have ya ever heard the name of Uphigh Collective? No? Well, it’s an ensamble of different producers (William, Ducap,Oddlaner, Title) , a vocalist ( Delv!s ) and one emcee (Sir-5)  from Belgium that combine electronic-driven and bass-driven music with soulful groove. Certainly Uphigh Collective got a hip-hop background. We are so fucking impressed by their extra-smooth track titled Blend 7″ . The track blends together electronic beats with soul groove in a way that surely will blow ya mind!

British neo-soul/r&b singer/songwriter Terri Walker thrilled us with her performances alongside Nicole Wray under the moniker of Lady and she appeared also on the 4th installment of Stay Mellow series with a feature with r&b singer KOF. Jump in the 1994 , when Brooklyn singer Ceybil Jefferies better known as Sweet Sable released her album Old Time Sake. We are so fascinated by her single Old Time Sake that uses the sample of a 1977 record by sou singer Eddie Kendricks.

Take the underground hip-hop flow of John Robinson also member of Scienz of Life and the soulful vocal skills by avant-garde Georgia singer Stacy Epps  and you can appreciate the music of Sol Uprising. In 2003 both artists joined their forces and prowess to record a compelling album called Sol Power from which we chose Solar Love, an intriguing jont that combine elements of hip-hop,neo-soul and jazz.
