ROBERT GLASPER FEAT. PHONTE COLEMAN – VIOLETS (PRODUCED BY 9TH WONDER)
Renowned visionary experimental jazz artist Robert Glasper is almost ready to show to the entire world his last magnum opus entitled Everything Is Beautiful set to release in May (pre-order it now). The project is a superb tribute to jazz icon Miles Davis structured and wisely crafted as a rearrangement of Davis’s pieces from across the peerless Miles Davis catalog. Mr.Glasper surrounded himself with an incredible list of artists such as Erykah Badu, Ledisi,KING,U.K soul singer-songwriter Laura Mvula,Georgia Anne Muldrow, future soul group Hiatus Kaiyote,Stevie Wonder,DJ Spinna,Chris Rob, hip-hop producer Rashad Smith,J.Dilla’s brother Illa J among others. After stimulating our attention with the first single called Ghetto Walkin alongside neo-soul crooner Bilal premiered via Beats1 episode by Zane Lowe , the Houston native impressed us with a new songs from Everything Is Beautiful. This time Robert Glasper recruits one of our favorite emcee Phonte Coleman (The Foreign Exchange/Little Brother/Justus League) and super-producer 9th Wonder to record the masterpiece entitled Violets. As usual Robert Glasper extends the limits of jazz music creating something that exudes excellence and brilliance. 9th Wonder confirms his fruiftul period after exciting us with impressive productions on the collaborative album with Talib Kweli Indie 500 and on the “next grammy award winner” album Malibu by Anderson.Paak . Phonte is working on two projects: his sophomore album called No News Is Good News announcing it will be released on September 30th and a collaborative work alongside Eric Roberson.
