mick-jenkins anglesThe countdown is over!

Yezzir, the debut album by Alabama native and Chicago based rapper Mick Jenkins is finally out and he confirms all his good work started in 2014 with the mixtape The Water[s] and continued in 2015 with the compelling Wave[s].

Well, since he kicked off his career, Mr.Jenkins has accustomed us to his way of working , his signature style and his particular capability to hold the listener’s attention with the baritone vocal tones, providing incredible emotions.

The perfect blend between Jenkins captivating flow and the solid collaboration with great producers of the international music  (many of whom are interesting names of the Chi-Town scene) such as: Statik Selektah,DJ Dhai,Kirk Knight,Lee Bannon,THEMpeople,Cam O’bi,Kaytranada,Stefan Ponce represents one of the recipe for his success.

The Healing Component is an accurate, mature and solid opus that unveils a kinda of sophistication in its simplicity and a balanced mixing of sonorities , wisely produced by a fleet of great minds such as Kaytranada,Sango,BADBADNOTGOOD,IAMNOBODI,Dpat among others.

So make sure you to grab Jenkins new album in order to grasp the opportunity to explore his immeasurable talent and taste what we consider the centerpiece of the entire body of work: Angles.

Jenkins urges to

“put you in situations where you only have to rely on yourself in order to find out who you are”

Angles is a fantastic collabo alongside Chicago representative NoName Gypsy (fresh of her last album Telefone ) and Georgia singer Xavier Omar formerly known as SPZRKT  (don’t miss his new single Grown Woman produced by Thelonious Martin).

The soulful piece is finely crafted by three exponents of the Chicago scene!

We’re talking about the rising young producer Monte Booker (a young kid inspired by the music from the past created by Pharrell,Kanye,Dre but with a sound that runs into the future) , Cam O’bi (a well-known name around Chi-Town which curriculum boasts productions for Domo Genesis,Bas,Chance The Rapper) and THEMpeople (a prolific collective which consists of  L Boog,Dough,Zigg and Michael Anthony)
