FREDDIE GIBBS & MADLIB – SHAME (BADBADNOTGOOD REMIX)
Two months ago California beatsmith Madlib and Indiana storyteller Freddie Gibbs , joined their forces to release a collaborative project titled Piñata , enlisting some veterans rappers like Scarface and Raekwon and young emcees like Domo Genesis and Earl Sweatshirt from Odd Future crew and Danny Brown.
We wanna spotlight a very solid and original reinterpretation of the single titled Shame by Canadian avant-garde and experimental trio Badbadnotgood .
First of all we’d like to spend some words to introduce Badbadnotgood. It’s a band formed by bassist Chester Hansen,Matthew Tavares on keys and drummer Alex Sowinski. They dismissed every conventional scheme, to explore and experiment a kind of music that brake the boundary of jazz music, creating an interesting connection between jazz and hip-hop. In 2011 they dropped BBNG and in 2012 BBNG2 .
Listening to their remix version of Shame, you can appreciate their tipical dusty jazzy groove that will charm you.
