The japanese and in general the East School is a huge temple that cranks out a ton of mastermind producers, beatmakers as well as gifted musicians. We can recite a long list that includes DJ Mitsu The Beat,Mabanua,Kero One,Grooveman Spot,Budamonk,Mad Smoky, Kenichiro Nishihara,Bugseed,Hisanova,DJ Krush,DJ Honda,DJ Muro,Cro-Magnon,DJ Deckstream plus influential labels like Jazzy Sports and jazz musicans like Takuya Kuroda.

It’s not a case if we compiled a selection to pay homage to the East School with Shibuya.

Today we focus our attention on japanese DJ/musician/composer/arranger Kazumi Kaneda.

We are so impressed by his interesting re-arrangement of Common‘s hip-hop tune titled Resurrection originally produced by No I.D.

It’s a remix version that underlines Mr.Kaneda penchant for jazz music (influenced by artists like Bill Evans,Robert Glasper,José James) and 90’s hip-hop ( J.Dilla,The Ummah,Buckwild).
