CHARM TAYLOR – GREEN ACRES (PRODUCED BY SAINT ROCK)
St.Louis songwriter/songstress Charm Taylor knocks on da scratchtheblock.com’s door and mesmerizes us.
She earned notoriety as lead vocalist of the electric soul rock-n-roll band The Honorable South alongside guitarist/composer Matthew Rosenbeck, bassist/songwriter Charles Lumar II, the unorthodox drummer Jamal Batiste and guitarist/producer Danny Kartel (check out their Bandcamp page) but today she releases her debut project as solo artist, titled The Road Within.
Artistically she reminds innovative groups such as Oshun,THEESatisfaction (they appeared on hip-hop selection Me & My Adidas ), Ibeyi and we think she represents something worthy thanks her effervescent charisma, an eclectic musical approach where the balanced and tuneful combination of verses and flow guides the listener in a colourful place made of afro rhythm, future soul and hip-hop.
The EP is entirely produced by New Orleans based producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist Rock Whittington aka Saint Rock , an interesting artist with a musical background imbued with a wide and eclectic range of genres like jazz, electronic and hip-hop.
We selected for you our fave gem of the entire work: Green Acres a supa-soulful sonic trip into the Saint Rock’s sound and Charm Taylor’s skills as story-teller.
